The Diocese of Rochester and the Gates Catholic Community is committed to the safety and well-being of our youth and vulnerable adults.  In ensuring this safety and well-being the diocese has created a mandatory workshop and background check for any adult having direct contact with our youth and vulnerable adults.  The two hour workshop, “Creating a Safe Environment” and subsequent confidential background check is provided at no charge to any adult wishing to assist directly with our youth and vulnerable adults. Please contact the Parish Office for further information.

COVID-19

As we continue our weekend Masses, we want everyone to be mindful of Covid-19 protocols. 

· Masks must be worn to and from your vehicle and at all times in the church building

· We strongly encourage you to use the side entrance doors to the church as they are less populated

· Sanitize your hands before entering the church and sign the attendance binder located at all entrances for Covid-tracing

· When you are seated, please be aware of social distancing

· When communion is served, ushers will let you know when you can get in line, please remember to social distance while walking up to receive communion and return to your pew by the side aisle

· Wait until an usher dismisses your pew to leave the church

· Remember not to congregate in the gathering area. 

 

Following these steps will help us to continue to keep our doors open so that we may all enjoy mass together.

If you still do not feel comfortable coming into the church, we will offer drive-up communion after the masses below.  Drive in entrance driveway and go around the back of the building to the east entrance of the church.  Communion ministers will be waiting at the door. Please drive slowly and responsibly.  Thank you.

Week 3 - March 10 - Am I Saved?, based on references to the Ten Commandments in the third Sunday of Lent first reading
Week 4 - March 17 - The Spirit Convicts, based on the fourth Sunday of Lent Gospel “not to condemn, but to save”

ANYTIME during Lent.  Go to: http://theparishoftheholyfamilygates.sermon.net/.  On the right-hand side, click on the circle next to Archive and you should see a video for “2021 Stations of the Cross.”  That video will be there for the entire season of lent and can be viewed as often as you like. 


AFTERNOON OF PENANCE - Wednesday, March 24 from 4PM to 8PM.  We will be observing Covid guidelines.  Please wear your mask.

The Youth of our parish will present Stations of the Cross in church and via livestream.

IN EARLY FEBRUARY, THE DIOCESE WILL BE SENDING ANOTHER MAILING TO ALL THOSE PARISHIONERS WHO HAVE YET TO MAKE A PLEDGE TO THE CMA.  WE ARE URGING  EVERYONE TO MAKE A CONTRIBUTION, LARGE OR SMALL, TO HELP REDUCE OUR DEFICIT.  AS OF THE LAST REPORTING, WE ARE $34,132.00 SHORT OF THE GOAL.  AS WE HAVE REPORTED, WE ARE OBLIGATED TO MAKE UP ANY DEFICIT FROM OUR PARISH FUNDS.  YOUR FINANCIAL HELP IS NEEDED.  IN ADDITION, STARTING ON THE SECOND WEEK OF FEBRUARY, AND CONTINUING THRU MAY, WE WILL CONDUCT A SPECIAL COLLECTION TO HELP OUR DEFICIT.  CMA ENVELOPES WILL BE IN THE PEWS AND IN THE GATHERING AREA.  SIMPLY COMPLETE THE ENVELOPE AND DROP IN THE COLLECTION BOX.  FOR THOSE WHO ARE NOT ATTENDING MASS, AS A RESULT OF THE COVID VIRUS, YOU CAN SIMPLY ADDRESS AN ENVELOPE TO THE PARISH OFFICE.  PLEASE MAKE YOUR CHECK TO THE PARISH OF THE HOLY FAMILY.

Safe Environment Information

Creating a Safe Environment is mandated by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops to ensure the safety of those most defenseless in our society, including our children and vulnerable adults.

Therefore, anyone wishing to volunteer at are required to meet the following guidelines:

  1. Sign a Diocese of Rochester Volunteer Code of Conduct form
  2. Pass the Criminal Record Check process
  3. Complete the Creating a Safe Environment Training

*Note: Volunteer drivers for Church programs and events must have their driving record checked every year.

In addition to these requirements, all volunteers must continually renew their training in CASE, as determined by the Diocese of Rochester.

CASE training is available online and requires a potential volunteer to contact the individual parish. The Completion Certificate, Volunteer Code of Conduct, and results from the quiz must be printed and brought to the Parish Office
